Putting the 'fun' in Budgeting

March 14, 2017

It's always a good day when you can take a dirty word like 'budgeting' and turn it into something fun!

The Guild held it's first budgeting workshop on Tuesday the 14th and it we had 6 keen participants that worked through some really simple tools to help them gain a higher level of financial literacy.

We looked at easy strategies that can be applied to your weekly budget that can help you save for things you really want.

We had a heap of fun creating an extra large, and very colourful, yearly planner that filled up really quickly once we started slotting in all those big things we pay for, and, all the little things that occur each and every year, but are often forgotten in the weekly budge! It's really amazing to see what your regular expenses look like on a giant forum. This activity can be transfer down into the famous, or infamous, weekly budget.

We had a lovely dinner and Netflix together.

If you'd like to join in on our end of semester budgeting workshop, please send us an email at welfarestudentguild@usc.edu.au
