HAVE YOU BEEN ASKED TO SHOW CAUSE?
Do you need help understanding correspondence from the University? Have you received an email or text about Monitoring Academic Progress and Exclusion (MAPE)? Our Advocacy Officer can assist you through the exclusion process and help you submit your Show Cause Form.
DO YOU WANT TO APPEAL A GRADE OR ASSESSMENT DECISION?
Are you unhappy with the grade you received? Do you think you have valid grounds for re-assessment?Do you think you might be eligible for a supplementary assessment? Our Advocacy Officer can guide you through the process of requesting a re-grade, appealing an assessment decision, or requesting a supplementary assessment.
DO YOU WANT TO APPEAL A UNIVERSITY DECISION?
Have you received a decision from the university that you are unhappy with? Do you feel that you have valid grounds to have it re-considered? Have your student rights been breached? Our Advocacy Officer can assist you in making an appeal on a university decision and guide you through the process of presenting a case to the university.
DO YOU WANT TO WITHDRAW FROM A SUBJECT OR DEFER AN EXAM?
Do you want to withdraw from a subject without academic or financial penalty? Do you have exceptional circumstances and need an extension on an assignment? Or were you sick on an exam day and need to apply for a deferred exam? Our Advocacy Officer can guide you through the process of withdrawing or asking for extensions.
HAVE YOU HAD AN ISSUE WITH YOUR PLACEMENT?
Do you feel that you are not being supported with issues that arise during your placement? Have you experienced threats of termination, bullying and harassment, or withholding educational information? Our Advocacy Officer can help you get your placement back on track.
DO YOU WANT TO MAKE AN COMPLAINT?
Do you have a complaint to make against a person or about a process that you feel has put you at a disadvantage? Do you feel you have been discriminated against, harassed or bullied by a staff member or student? Do you have a grievance with another student, staff member or University employee? Our Advocacy Officer can assist you through the formal complaints and grievance process.
HAVE YOU BEEN ACCUSED OF STUDENT MISCONDUCT?
Are there allegations of academic misconduct such as plagiarism, exam issues, collusion, or contract cheating? Have you been accused of general misconduct? Our Advocacy Officer can support and advise you through the process.
DO YOU NEED NON-LEGAL COURT SUPPORT?
Are you are required to attend a local court? We do not offer legal advice,however, our Advocacy Officer can attend court with you as a support person.
